The second annual Nevada Expressions Show and Sale will be held at the Sierra Arts Gallery in the Riverside Hotel in downtown Reno on Saturday April 20 and Sunday April 21. Paintings predominate, but other media are represented and the artists are among the most celebrated in the state.
“This is an opportunity to see recent work from 25 of the most prominent contemporary Nevada artists all in one place,” said Robin Cobbey, board chairman of the Comstock Residents Association, sponsor of the event. “It’s really one of the premiere art events in the state.”
The event is a fundraiser for protection of the Virginia City National Historic Landmark and its timeless communities of Virginia City, Gold Hill, Silver City and Dayton..
Wally Cuchine, retired Impresario of the Eureka Opera House and renowned collector of Nevada art will be present at the Artists’ Reception on Saturday from 4 to 8 pm, as will many of the artists.
“This is a chance for anyone interested in adding to their Nevada art collection or those who may just be starting to collect art from some of the very best artists that Nevada has to offer,” he said. “No place has this variety of art for those of us who love and support Nevada Artists. See you at Sierra Arts on April 20.”
The exhibit and sale will move to Great Basin Gallery, 110 S. Carson Street in Carson City where it will show on Friday April 26, with an Artists’ Reception from 4 to 8 pm, and on Saturday April 27 from 10 am until 5 pm.
“I am proud and pleased to help protect our national landmark by presenting this outstanding array of artists,” said gallery partner Rick Davis. “It’s a unique opportunity for people to see this great work here in Carson City, and I hope everyone will take advantage of it.”
