Chairman Davies, Members of the Planning Commission: In this video, Silver City residents describe impacts of exploration and mining on their lives and property. In the recent past, they experienced several months of Comstock Mining’s exploratory drilling within the southern town limits. They are presently experiencing impacts from operations at the Lucerne Pit to the north just outside of town. These heavy industrial activities, including the planned mining of the Dayton Consolidated by Comstock Mining, are not what Silver City wants in town and are inharmonious with the Lyon County Comprehensive Master Plan, developed with the participation of Silver City residents.
